What are swirl marks?
Very fine scratches in the clear top layer of your paint, mostly caused by everyday washing and drying. In sunlight they look like circular spider-webs and make the paint look dull.
What does polishing do?
A machine polish carefully levels the clear top layer, so light reflects evenly again. Fewer swirls, more gloss, and paint that looks deeper and cleaner.
What can it not fix?
Scratches that catch your fingernail have usually gone through the clear layer and cannot be polished out safely. We check your paint first and tell you honestly what to expect.

What is the difference between paint enhancement and paint correction?+
A Paint Enhancement is a light machine polish that brings back gloss; it does not set out to remove swirls. Paint correction uses stronger polishing to remove swirl marks and light scratches. Our 1-Step Paint Correction (R2,200 regular / R2,500 large) clearly reduces swirls in one stage. Our 2-Step Paint Correction (R4,000 regular / R4,400 large) adds a cutting stage before the finishing polish, for the best possible result.
What causes swirl marks?+
Swirl marks are very fine scratches in the clear top layer of your paint. Most come from everyday washing and drying: dirty sponges, automatic car washes, dusty cloths and wiping a dry, dusty car. They show up as circular, spider-web marks in direct sunlight, especially on dark cars.
Will paint correction remove all scratches?+
Not always. Polishing works by smoothing the clear top layer, so it removes defects that sit within that layer. A scratch that catches your fingernail has usually gone deeper and cannot be polished out safely. We check your paint before we start and tell you honestly what to expect.
Do I need paint correction before a ceramic coating?+
Not if your car is new or the paint is in good condition. Our coating prices are for wash, clay and coat, so you only pay for polishing if you need it. But a coating is clear and locks in the paint as it is, swirls included, so if your paint is dull or swirled we recommend polishing first.
How long does paint correction take?+
A Paint Enhancement takes roughly 3–5 hours. A 1-Step Paint Correction usually takes most of a day, and a 2-Step Paint Correction is a full-day job or longer, depending on the size and condition of the car. We confirm timing when we quote.
Do you come to me?+
Yes. We are fully mobile and polish your car at your home, office or estate across Johannesburg, including Sandton, Sandhurst, Bryanston, Hyde Park, Houghton, Fourways, Steyn City, Waterfall Estate and Bedfordview. We need water, a power point and ideally shade or covered parking. Call-out is free in Johannesburg North and surrounds. In certain cases a call-out fee may apply, and we confirm it when we quote.
